Life is made more wonderful by reading.

A cup of tea, a book, a lamp—leaving behind worldly distractions, allowing oneself to embark on a journey with the words, savoring the splendor and beauty of life, appreciating the vastness and profundity of knowledge, and fully enjoying the open-mindedness and tranquility of life—what a kind of happiness this is!

Reading a good book is like a cool, sweet spring flowing silently into the heart, allowing one to unconsciously receive the nourishment of culture, the sublimation of thought, and the baptism of the soul. Life becomes more wonderful because of reading.

Immersed in a world filled with books, seeing those yellowed or brand-new books, their wise light illuminates my eyes brightly. Opening a book, entering the colorful jungle of thought, one perceives the warmth and coldness of human relationships, hears the birdsong and the fragrance of flowers, witnesses intrigue and struggles, and experiences thrilling moments; sometimes, even one's own emotions and experiences are integrated into the text, the mood rising and falling with the realm of the book, captivated by the subtle fragrance of emotions and wisdom within.

On countless moonlit nights and drizzly evenings, with a cup of fragrant tea and a single red candle, whether leaning against a pillow or standing by the window, I would roam the long river of history and gently kiss the azure waves of literature. I would pay homage to Cao Zhi in the morning and visit Li Bai in the evening. I would grieve for the White Snake Lady forever imprisoned in Leifeng Pagoda, and lament Meng Jiangnu's weeping at the Great Wall in martyrdom. I would admire Su Shi's powerful music flowing eastward along the Yangtze River, and admire Li Qingzhao's carefree boating and lotus picking. I would urge my horse along the ancient road, the camel bells jingling, and stroll amidst the apricot blossoms of Jiangnan… The pure beauty and tragic love of humanity unfold before me, making me linger in this beautiful world. Through reading, I engage in dialogues across time with many familiar and unfamiliar cultural figures. While experiencing their thoughts and emotions, I also transform my own spiritual world and enrich my knowledge.

Reading not only enlightens our minds and increases our wisdom, but also allows us to navigate our work with ease. It makes us pay more attention to society and to life. For me, long-term grassroots cultural work, whether organizing galas or carrying out various forms of mass cultural activities, is inseparable from the rhythm and cadence of words. It is those lively, brilliant, apt, and emotionally rich words that add luster and color to each event. It can be said that the charm of words has played an indispensable role in the success of every activity. In my spare time, I entrust my heart to books, basking in their fragrance and enjoying the pleasure of reading. When emotions run high, I pour out my feelings and thoughts, all my joys and sorrows, onto the keyboard, creating a spiritual home for myself, finding my own sanctuary, a place of tranquility. Thus, I have the outpouring of prose, the sincerity of reportage, and the flowing beauty of poetry.

Books are truly wonderful things; they are not only a resting place for the soul but also a ladder to a refined personality. They truly are "reading when hungry as if it were meat, reading when cold as if it were fur, reading when lonely as if it were a friend, reading when melancholy as if it were a musical instrument."

I often lament how time flies, how fleeting life is. Whether it's the grand palaces of Qin and Han dynasties, the grandeur of Tang and Song dynasties, or the dust of fame and fortune, or the humble life of a commoner, all vanish in the blink of an eye. Only the chronicles written with pen and ink flowing from the wrist can endure, recording the imprints of civilization, the trajectory of history, and the wisdom of humankind. With a good book in hand, in the quiet of a study, it's easy to find solace and understanding.

Sailing through the sea of books, different books offer different experiences. Reading literature allows one to witness the vicissitudes of life, experience the warmth and coldness of humanity, and comprehend the truth and beauty of life through words imbued with the author's emotions. Reading social science books connects the past and present, East and West, allowing one to listen to the pulse of culture and feel the breadth and depth of thought and culture in the books that condense the author's thinking and wisdom. Reading business guidance books familiarizes one with work approaches and methods, allowing one to draw wisdom from the works that embody the author's painstaking efforts to improve work efficiency and quality. Life, nurtured by culture, achieves a sublimation of spirit, a unique life, and imbues ordinary life with the richness and vibrancy of a rose.

Nighttime is the most suitable time for reading. In this time truly belonging to oneself, there is nothing better than reading. Sitting alone, without passion or restlessness, the mind is as still as water. The gaze need not linger on the branches, but on the straight, endless line, extending forever. Think about it, as long as you treat everything kindly and embrace everything, life is actually very simple.

Those who read, holding a book, are like lighting a lamp of confidence, illuminating their life's journey. Reading not only enhances the beauty of the already beautiful, but also imbues the ordinary with boundless charm, adding harmony and civilized beauty to our living spaces. In today's world, where people's lives are improving and their pursuit of beauty is growing stronger, it is hoped that more friends will find companionship in books, creating more beauty and adorning our lives.

Reading makes a person wise and open-minded; they are graceful and magnanimous, their every gesture reflecting a radiant elegance, alluring and refined. Even as an ordinary person, life becomes fragrant through the nourishment of words, and the soul becomes warm and complete through their companionship. With words as our guide, the soul is enriched, subtly intoxicating. Let the radiance of our character forever cherish the alluring fragrance of books.

Dear friends, read! Set aside some time for reading to cultivate our temperament, numbed by the complexities of life; find some time for reading to correct the direction we've lost in our busy lives; squeeze out some time for reading to open our hearts, closed off by mechanical work.

Reading brings us joy, enriches us, and keeps us away from superficiality and mediocrity, away from ignorance and foolishness. Reading leads us to profound knowledge and excellence, to civilization and harmony.

Let life be richer and more vibrant through reading.
